Baklava

INGREDIENTS

Syrup (prepare first)
2 1/2 cups sugar
3 tbs honey
3 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
Lemon ring
Orange Ring
5 cloves cloves
1 tbs lemon juice

Phyllo/Filling
Melted butter
32 sheets of phyllo
​
1 1/2 cups chopped wallnuts
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/4 tsm ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg.
1/4 cup sugar

DIRECTIONS
​
Boil in a saucepan until it reaches 212-218 degrees. Cool to room temperature.

Mix the filling ingredients well
​
Place 11 sheets of phyllo, adding melted butter on top of each sheet.
Once they are placed, add half of the filling ingredients.
Place 10 more sheets, remembering to add the butter on top of each sheet.
Add remaining filling.
Place the remaining 11 phyllo sheets on top with butter on each.
Cut three triangles on the top three sheets.
Add more butter on the top.
Bake for 30 minutes on 375 degrees.
Immediately after taking out from the oven, pour half of the syrup on top.
Wait 15 minutes and add the remaining syrup.
