Baked Halva

INGREDIENTS
For the cake
1 cup of flour
1 cup of semolina
1 tbs of baking powder
1 stick of unsalted butter
1 cup of sugar
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp of vanilla extract
Zest of 1 lemon
1 cup of milk
Pinch of salt

For the syrup
1 1/2 cups of water
1 1/2 cups of sugar
Orange skin ring
Lemon juice.

INGREDIENTS:
Preheat the oven 350 degrees.
Mix the flower, semolina, and baking powder in a bowl.
Cream the butter and sugar in a separate bowl. Add the egg yolks. Add vanilla and lemon zest.
Add the flour and milk in batches while alternating.
Clean the beaters well and beat the eggs and the salt until soft peaks form. Fold into the rest of the batter.
Pour them onto greased baking pans and bake for 45 minutes or until golden.
Add water sugar, and orange to a saucepan bring to boil. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add Lemon juice and cool.
Cover the cake with syrup when the cake is still warm.
When it cools, sprinkle with powder sugar or almonds.
